How to Keep a Warehouse Floor Clean: A Buyer's Guide
Warehouse dust is not a cosmetic problem. It gets sucked into forklift air filters, coats racking and products, slips into precision machinery, and — with fine concrete dust — becomes a respiratory and slip-hazard issue that auditors flag. A structured cleaning routine solves it cheaply.
Match the machine to your floor area
The sizing logic is simple: cleaning capacity (m²/h) × available hours must cover your floor area per shift, with 30% margin for obstacles, ramps and staging zones.
- Under 3,000 m²: a walk-behind scrubber like the AS560 (520 mm cleaning width, 2,600 m²/h) handles a daily pass on aisles and loading zones.
- 3,000–10,000 m²: compact ride-on scrubbers are the workhorse segment — the AS700 double-brush (660 mm, 3,600 m²/h) and the AS800 (760 mm, 4,600 m²/h) cover this range in one shift.
- Over 10,000 m²: full-size ride-on machines like the AS900 (860 mm, 5,600 m²/h, 4–5 h working time) clean large warehouse floors without a mid-shift recharge.
When to sweep and when to scrub
Loose dust and debris respond to sweeping; bonded dust, tyre marks and oil film need a scrubber — a machine that lays down water, agitates with brushes and vacuums the floor dry in one pass. On dusty concrete, most facilities run a quick pre-sweep in high-debris zones, then let a ride-on scrubber do the deep clean: one machine, one operator, and a dry floor behind it.
A weekly routine that actually holds
- Daily: one full pass in main traffic lanes during the quietest shift; park with tanks drained.
- Twice weekly: full-area pass including under-racking edges and dock levellers.
- Weekly: rinse the recovery tank and filter, check squeegee blades and brush wear, wipe the sensor eyes.
- Monthly: inspect brush plates and skirts; reorder wear parts (we ship 1% free consumables with container orders).
Battery and runtime planning
Our scrubbers run lead-acid batteries as standard with 2–5 hours working time depending on model, and lithium is available on request. For single-shift operations a standard pack charged overnight is enough; two-shift sites should either size up the battery (the AS900 carries a 24V 200AH pack) or plan a mid-shift swap.
What buyers should compare across suppliers
When comparing quotes, look past the sticker: tank capacity (how often you stop to refill), squeegee width (how fast the floor dries), spare-part lead time, and whether the quote is genuine FOB with export documents included. Our full scrubber range with complete specification tables makes those comparisons line by line.
